29.5.2012 On accident
What could make the day before you leave for Sydney on holidays, the day you’ve just finished all of your assignments for the semester a whole week early, better?
Unexpectedly running into lovely people you love not once not twice but three times. Oh yes. Good. Day.

12.5.2012 My first poetry reading
On a Saturday afternoon at the Dan O’Connell, a wonderful thing happens. All these very very different people get together and stand up in front of each other and read their thoughts aloud. It’s so magic. This girl was the feature poet and she was a slam poet and she was so beautiful and bold and musical and everyone there was nothing but supportive and encouraging of everyone else and normal life should be more like the poetry readings at the Dan O’Connell.

05.5.2012 Elwood
These are my local cafes when I’m living at Em’s place. How sweet (and a little bit hip) are they? I love Elwood man.

03.5.2012 Yellow
If you have a sort of crappy day and are feeling sluggish and mule-like and notice a grey and heavy despondency settling into your stomach, I recommend noticing a yellow wattle flower, and then a few more, all nestled in and around calm green leaves who are separate and better than your grim sadnesses.

01.5.2012 Fresh Paint
Newly completed mural thingo near Kmart Barkley Square. Colours on what would otherwise be monotonous and beige-ish walls are a fantastic thing.

28.4.2012 Church Camp
Went away for the night with a bunch of people from my church. Highlights include
-romantic advice from my 70 year old friend Barry “send him a Twitter, woman! SEND HIM A TWITTER NOW!”
-Seeing my ministers wife read a poem about boobs at the traditional camp concert
-cackling like a fiend with many a new and old friend
-watching other people pick up and wash my dishes for me
-community (the thing, not the show for once)
For Christians, they’re not too shabby at all*.
*only partially tongue in cheek
